Q1. What is your line of business?

My business for this side project is a tool that helps people who use Zendesk. Zendesk is a customer service platform with millions of users, and my specific tool helps users edit their macros on their local system.

Q2: Tell us about your professional background.

I’ve been working for more than 10 years as a web designer. I’m currently engaged with the agency Code and Theory as a web visual designer.

Q3. How would you describe your leadership style?

Understanding the customers is your main goal and you need to transfer that knowledge to your team members. If your team understands what your customers need out of your product, everyone can be on the same page when it comes to meeting expectations.

Q4. What new trends are emerging in your industry and how are you adapting to them?

No-code solutions are taking over - this isn’t one of those but it’s closely aligned to them. I believe adapting to them lets us work faster and more creatively than before. Cloud-based tools like Figma allow designers and stakeholders to collaborate on work at the same time, and web tools like Webflow allow clients and designers to collaborate much more quickly than in any other way in the past.

Q5.  How focused are you on new technology? What are your favorite apps/software to use in your work?

I’m fairly focused on it. My tool in this interview isn’t a new technology - it’s just a further evolution of some existing software that will hopefully save people time and headaches when using Zendesk.

Q6. Aside from working as a web visual designer, what do you love to do during your free time?

I’m a semi-professional dance music DJ and record label owner in my free time. I also enjoy cycling and skateboarding.

Q7. What’s the most meaningful advice you’ve ever received in life?

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear.” You can apply this to literally everything in life.

Q8: Did you have a mentor who changed your life? How so?

I did not but I’d love to go down that road one day!

Q9: Personally, how would you define success?

If you can do what you love, help people, and meet all your responsibilities without letting anyone down - that’s success.

Q10. Lastly, tell us about where people can find you online. Share your socials and official website with our readers!

You can find me on Twitter at @nkassebaum where I tweet about startup lifestyle. My email is [email protected]. The tool I’m building is Zendesk Macros Converter so please check that out and if you use Zendesk, give it a try!
